Get crafty with petals as a DIY idea for Valentine’s Day
Pick your favourite petals and start making your own flower heart. This is a really romantic DIY project to get your creative juices flowing. You could pick flowers from your garden such as Hellebores, Pansies, Daffodils or buy a few bunches of flowers to use the petals, such as roses. Grab some black or white card and start sticking your colourful petals (red and pink preferably) on in a heart shape. Build up the heart with more petals so it really flourishes. Then you could draw on the card a romantic note to the recipient. What a stunning gift, sure to create some love.
An arty paperwork DIY idea
Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be the same without some big red hearts and you can create your own with a little DIY know how. From red and pink paper to cardboard and glitter, grab your scissors, tape and string to make your own heart shaped Valentine's decorations. Cut out lots of red hearts to scatter on the dining table, hang shiny hearts on a string or make a gorgeous heart garland to hang above the door for when you loved one arrives. Add your own touch with glitter or shimmery red paper to any of those DIY ideas but for a simple, thoughtful project just cut out a large heart, then one inside and a smaller one inside that and hang up with string.
Say it with roses with this DIY idea for Valentine’s Day
It’s all about roses on Valentine’s Day! Is there anything more romantic than receiving a big bunch of beautiful red roses from your loved one? Well, believe it or not, you could go one better than that and DIY your own rose display in a jar. Mostly the colours pink and red tend not to be placed together but for this project, they will look absolutely perfect. Grab yourself a large glass vase or even better a jar and wrap some ribbon around the neck if you have some. Then trim your pink and red roses to the correct height before putting in the water-filled vase or jar. They will look totally stunning and even better than a hand-tied bouquet because you put in the effort of making it special.
